Tommi Hanley, CITE – Owner
Tommi has more than 25 years experience in the meeting and incentive travel industry. The first woman in Canada to attain the Certified Incentive Travel Executive (CITE) designation from the Society of Incentive & Travel Executives in 1992, she served several years on the SITE Canada Board of Directors, including two elected terms as President. Tommi is a former Editor of Meetings & Incentive Travel magazine and was instrumental to the creation and launch Canada’s only M&IT-specific conference and trade show – IncentiveWorks – now in its 27th successful year. She founded Thompson Lloyd Communications in 1993 to provide specialized media relations, communications and marketing services to a wide variety of clients, including major hotels, tourist boards and destination management companies. She opened Shop the Valley DMC in 2004. She has served on the boards of the BC Agri-Tourism Alliance and the Economic Development Commission of the Central Okanagan and the Association of Destination Marketing Executives (ADME). She is a former lead instructor of the Event Promotions and Management diploma program at the Centre for Arts and Technology in .
Shop the Valley is a member and tourism partner of regional, national and international organizations. As a leader in the meeting and incentive industry, our team also supports local tourism partners and suppliers through speaking engagements and consulting on regional tourism initiatives. Members of our team have pursued continued education within the industry to achieve professional accreditation and utilize the educational opportunities provided by industry organizations such as Society of Incentive & Travel Executives (SITE) and the Association of Destination Management Executives (ADME).
